Welcome to #DeviantLoveSoftware

Here you'll find news & musings on the development of the Deviant Love browser extension, as well as plenty of opportunities to provide your feedback. If you seek to get general information on Deviant Love, including how to grab it for your browser, come see its deviation page.

Questions? Bug reports? Ideas? Feel free to leave 'em in a comment here. If you'd like to make a visual suggestion, you can submit it to the Mock-ups and Suggestions folder (which doesn't require group membership).

If you can write JavaScript and handle git, and you want to contribute more than ideas to Deviant Love, you can find the source code and participate in development at the GitHub repo. Consider noting me so we can coordinate our efforts.

Note for members and watchers: By default, you'll get a message whenever a visual suggestion or mock-up has been posted (don't worry, I'll filter out the spam). If you want messages for blog posts only, click "Watching" in the upper-right corner and uncheck "Deviations".

Deviant Love began as a Chrome extension, and I am thankful for Chrome making an excellent platform to launch from. Unfortunately, the 2.1.x releases were not as high-quality on Chrome as they should have been... until now!

Optimizations in listing deviants

When Deviant Love is done scanning, or when you close its search results, it needs to display the complete list of all the artists it's found for you. However, it was inefficient at doing this, which was a little noticeable on Firefox and very noticeable on Chrome. Optimizations have been made so Chrome users can get to that list quickly, and even Firefox users can enjoy a slight speed boost!

Chrome fix: The context menu item is back

I failed to properly prepare Deviant Love's context menu item for the introduction of auto-unloading in Deviant Love 2.1.1, but now that oversight has been corrected, and "List faved art from <artist>" will appear in your context menu again.

The future

The roadmap was updated over the winter, with new, less overly-ambitious releases planned between now and 3.0, and new items for discussion. Check it out and leave feedback!

You should put up the deviation in question on the group gallery! It's not immediately evident what this group is about.
